Aren't all you star wars nerds... I mean fans, somewhat disappointed with the newer movies? Honestly, I couldn't tell one of those new Star Wars movies from the next w/out seeing the DVD or something.
Ep1 seemed kind of pointless to me in the scheme of the overall story, but it worked as a movie.
Ep2 was more involved in the actual Star Wars timeline, but the dialog was freakin horrendous. In all honesty, the entire series has its moments of pretty horrible dialog at some points as well. But Ep2 was just so consistently stupid-sounding as to be ridiculous.

If you look at the saga as a whole... IMO no I am not disappointed. It tells a story of an innocent boy (annakin skywalker) who is in a galaxy that is not yet been corrupted. All the worlds and aliens are doing their own thing. Until there is a menace (Darth Sidious) who is in the background planning to take over the galaxy by causing corruption and building an army that will help him take over the galaxy. As the prequels progress through each movie, we see the innocent skywalker become seduced by the darkside and Darth Sidious's plan accomplished.

Episode 1 had to start the saga off. There was a lot of points that needed to be covered. It worked as a starting point.
As far as the dialogue, all 6 movies weren't the greatest. All 6 had their cheesy dialogue moments. If there was anything to complain about in episode 2 is the dry love connection between annakin and padme.
