I got one of those... I got out of it til Augst 2nd... But now that I have a job where they pay you to go to jury duty, BRING THAT ISH ON!

well it was a capital case and it was going to last min. of 22 week as many as 28 weeks. I told the judge I am unemployeed and can't afford to be out of work for 5-7months.
But I didn't get out of it, it's postponed til August

Three ways to get rejected...
1. Say you can tell if someone is guilty just by looking at them.
2. Explain that a friend of yours was a victim of a similar crime and that you have strong feelings about it.
3. Say you are taking drugs for psychiatric problems (such as depression).

i would say wrong on all counts. what if it's a civil case?
and if the judge is in a bad mood and you give the first one, you'd better have a helmet on.

2. doesnt work. i told them i was in a similar crime and they kept me
3. that might work also
one person said he had very strong feelings about the nature of the crime because it happened to him that week
another person said he didnt feel comfortable judging people, which is the same as the question the judge asks about if people have some sort of religious or faith issues about judging people
