i hate it when guys yell and grunt during their sets. i can understand when a meathead is moving some ridiculous weights, but when a skinny dude is benching 135lbs and groaning, it's just annoying

Quote: They finally built a 24 hour in my town... thankfully it's causing a pricewar between Golds and them, so their prices are finally getting affordable.

(Golds wanted a $200 enrollment and a $50 a month to use the gym DURING OFF HOURS :madfawk: You could waive the enrollment if you agreed to go there for 18 months )
dude, gold's up here is WAY cheaper! i paid $99 for the enrollment fee and $30/month, for full access.

Until like a month ago, they were the only full public gym in town. A local kickboxing dojo had some freeweights and a few essential machines, and there were two college-level gyms, but that was it. When you're a monopoly in a town where people are *usually* rich, you can charge out of the ass. There's an athletic club in town that has monthly dues higher than what I pay in rent :eek3:

Quote: actually what pisses me off the most is how some people take 10 min breaks between sets. its 30-45 secs for a 'real' workout
30 seconds is ridiculously short.
i guess it depends.

if you're maxing out then yeah 30-45 seconds is short but if you are lifting regularly then 30 seconds is standard inbetween sets. I have been resting even less inbetween sets to keep my heartrate up.

30 seconds is almost like circuit training. i dont max out anymore but still wait about 1 minute between sets.
