who is getting Tiger this Friday?



I'm pretty excited about it... I might pick it up.

My friends and I are going into a pool for the install CDs, cause we're a bunch of poor people that were made that way by owning macs h:

 

Apple is charging a ton for some updates. Just another in a long list of reasons.....

 

They only charge for major releases. Apple gives out free software updates all the time. There's usually at least 1 security update per month, and 10.3 has been upgraded on my machine all the way up to 10.3.9 for free.

i actually want to do that... get the 5 licence set with 5 other friends. that would make it about $40 a head.

I'm not excited. I don't need dashboard. All it's going to do is make my consultant-life difficult for a while as I wait for all the software manufacturers to update their stuff. Many of my client's software packages and technologies are platform-dependent. I'm not recommending it to my clients until it hits at least version 10.4.2... that way they have time to get any possible bugs out of their server software.

I'm perfectly happy with 10.3.9. I'll probably fork out the upgrade bucks for my less-than-a-year-old laptop so I'll at least be prepared. I could download it, but Apple's been really good to me.

 

i would go in on that with you.

i want to get it. and i'd be willing to pay for it. while there are many things i try to get for free, there are some i don't mind paying for.
