I got quoted $350 to paint a front lip and side skirts. I was thinking more along the lines of $200-250. This was quoted from a guy that does side work for a lot of cars on a local forum. He does good work from what I've seen but that price seems a little high IMO. I know "you get what you pay for" but I wanted to get some other opinions before I get quoted by some shops. What do you think?

I think it might be a little high, but that is about what I am paying.... assuming I had a lip kit to paint :rick:

Yeah, you can figure about $100 per piece. What costs the most is Materials usually. I don't know about other brands, but PPG Paint had a big price increase at the beginning of this month, so Instead of a quart of DBC Paint in Blue being $80...it's now like $95 or so. Labor isn't that bad, since it's just painting, it's all about the materials.

And plus if you want it to look right, be willing to pay that kind of price...

I know that I won't regret my lip kit being the exact color that the car is... and know that the paint will last more than a season...

:werd: My dad owns a body shop and guarantees his paint to last 10 years. BUT, if something happens to go wrong, he fixes it for free...as long as you kept the receipt.

that does sound about right.... i paid 250 to have my bumper and two fenders painted. That was b/c a friend of mine whose a reputable painter did it for me discounted at his shop. I was giving him a lot of shit and he said he should have charged me the full 400 he wanted h:

that seems about right.

i haven't been close to daytona blue, but if there's quite a bit of metallic flake in it, that'll cost a bit more.

I'd go to somebody that actually does it for a living...since they have more to lose if they do shiety work.
