I pick my cars based on needs, not badging. If Yugo made an awesome car, I wouldn't look past it because of the name. If heated seats and all those creature comforts are tops on your list, you shouldn't even glance at the S2000. Just because both cars are near in price does not mean they are comparable.

 

I test drove both the g35 coupe and s2k. The G35 is a nice vehicle but defintely too beefy. The handling isn't all that great, and the accleration didn't wow me like I thought it would. The S2K, on the other hand is real quick and nimble. Two totally differnt driving experiences, but yea the S2K doesn't have the ooomph in torque. But the handling is awesome.

 

i hear ya dude. its just my 2cents cuz im in the market for a $30k car.
i just feel that for that much money, u should get more..which a g35,sti,or a evo provides.. maybe even a rx-8

 

to me, a $30K infiniti offers more than a $30k honda

 

I just drove a G35 last week, I really liked it, but I don't think Nissan has as good a quality product as Honda. Lots of torque, pulled pretty high G's on the corners too. It was just too big for me, don't dig large vehicles much.

 

and that's understandable, take for example the VW Phaeton.

when you break a certain price point, brand becomes a factor.

 

I can agree here, I can't really justify dropping $30k on a 2-Seater fun car. I would need something more practical. I was thinking of the S2K for like 5 secs when I was shopping for a new car then I opted for an IS300. 4 doors is useful.

 

but back the the original question, on cars.com
all the 01 are in the $20k range with maybe 10,000 miles less. it aint a bad deal. go for it if u can get it out the door for 16.5 or 17

the chances of me ever buying an evo or sti, even assuming i had the money are slim to none. id far rather have an s2k, boxter, something like that
