what kind of coat is this? powder or heat coated?

That thing is painted. Overspray & texture give it away.

FYI: When it comes to powdercoating, heat is a part of the process.
After the powder is applied, the powdercoated item must be placed in an oven to melt the powder and form the actual coating.

Not sure abou you but my F22s valve cover was textured from the factory as is my H22 that is currently in it. So I don't see texture as being a reason to say it was sprayed

But I do agree it was spray painted with high temp from the looks of it.

Every VC I've seen that has been non-factory powdercoated has been smooth. I think the sandblasting gets rid of the texture.

Yeah the texture is in the factory coating and is just high temp paint. I have removed the coating before with Jasco paint stripper and a little bit of steel wool. Once removed it was perfectly smooth and once polished and cleared it looks pretty good imo.

I was just saying, that's how Dave knows it's painted and not powdercoated.
