"Car buffs" report... please help me out...
Hey everyone... I'm doing a term paper for my Multicultural Communications 150 class called "Ethnographic"...
She's letting me to it on the sub-culture of "car buffs". hehe,
pretty cool I think... anyway...
Due tomorrow is 1-2 pages of "fieldwork"... basically, observations and interviews/questionaries...
So, I'd really appreciate heading from all of you on the following questions (please post a reply in this thread...)
1. What is your favorite brand?
2. Do you drive legally?
3. How long have you been a "car buff"?
4. A. Do you work on cars?
4. B. If so, on average, how much time do you spend per week on work alone?
5. A. Do you have a job that relates to cars?
5. B. If so, what is the job, and what does it involve?
6. Do you often find your self day-dreaming on cars when you should be doing something else?
7. Are there any "rituals", or special things, you do on a constant basis (can be as simple as cleaning your car daily... or as far-fetched as worshiping it as a god if you so believe...)
8. What is your view on other "car buffs", even if you dont agree with them, or they like cars you cannot stand?

4b. Maybe an hour or two as of lately

5b. Freelance photographer for Xtreme Off Road Magazine, I shoot rock crawls and trail runs, products, etc.

8. Everyone has their preference, there are cars and trucks etc. I will crack jokes about but I don't really care all that much one way or the other anymore.

7. I refer to her as my other girlfriend. I love her, but she's an expensive and tempermental bitch at times
8. Some are great guys, but other ones are haters and jerks. It's like life... there's a whole spectrum of people involved with cars...
