Actually nothing ever went boom, but it looks like a bomb went off in my intercooler. I have to get a grip on why I keep blowing it apart at 21 PSI.

It's an ADFX, and the whole kit is custom-built for a 2g DSM from the turbo outlet to the throttle body elbow. I just handed it off to a certified professional welder, and he says that visually, there's nothing wrong with its construction. The materials used and MIG welds were quality work. We think something else is going wrong. If they used the right filler for the type of aluminum it's constructed from, then it's probably something environmental in the engine bay that's causing it. I don't want to be too quick to go pointing my finger at ADFX just yet.

It looks like, since it just split right at the seam, that the weld joint was not done very well. The weld is still attached to both pieces, so bead size I don't think is an issue here, nor is penetration from the bead into the pieces. If I had to venture a guess, I would say that welds were not heat treated. Make sure they heat treat the piece if you have it rewelded. Aluminum welds to about 1/4 strength without heat treatment, and gets to about 1/2 strength with heat treating.
