Download SLAX Standard Edition v 5.0.1.
From: http://slax.linux-live.org/download.php
Burn to a cd.
Boot with the cd.

As soon as you see the Boot: prompt, type memtest and hit enter. Let that run for about an hour (doesn't need to complete every tiny little test to be good enough.)
If it finds any errors, let it run for another 10mins for every error it finds... to see if it finds it again.

If it keeps finding errors or theres just a ton of them, bad memory (or contact). If not, then it's probably just Windows or that program that is FUBAR.

ECC wont correct that types of errors. ECC only corrects 1 bit errors.
