If someone did not pass someone going 20 in a 55 zone over a double yellow, you must be a goody-two-shoes. If a cop saw that, I highly doubt you would ever get a ticket for that, unless quota's are back in use.

I've passed on double yellows in sitations like that. I've also rode their ass till they go sick of it and pulled over so i could pass. It's not too different than passing a garbage truck when they stop, the mailman, or a tractor/Amish buggy (for us PA folk). If a cop had seen that, he probably wouldve ticketed the retard doing 20 for going so slow.

They put double lines there for a reason, passing on double yellow is pretty silly and risky.

No way would I sit there and go 20 in a 55.
They probably put double yellow there so people won't pass anybody during the day when there are actually cars on that road. When the road is completely dead, and you're in the clear to pass, I don't see why not.
