Default cutting plexiglass

hey dudes...
In my ongoing amp rack project. Im going to place a piece of plexiglass on the top part of the rack ( Its going to look HOT!!!! )

Is there like a special blade you need to cut plexiglass? Or would a regular jig saw work?
I've seen that on eBay people do sell pre cut pieces of plexiglass which is cool but, what if I have to cut some off the edges or so.

What tool can I pick up at home depot?

you need a plexiglass cutter, the one i have looks like half an arrow with a plastic handle. it'll score the plastic. when you have a deep groove, you snap it like a hershey's candy bar.

then sand the edges.

You might be able to get away with a fine tooth blade, at a higher speed. But you might start melting it. If it isnt a big cut, you can use a Dremel-like tool.

i've been trying but after I used it to cut some designs on a piece of ABS plastic
it just stopped. Maybe it overheated?

Maybe I should bang it on the wall or something. Maybe that will revive it?
Or smelling salt?
