computer gurus,..help me

Default computer gurus,..help me

trying to install a burner,..i have everything hooked up right but its not working right,..its only showing one drive when i go into My Computer,..if i right click the drive its showing and select Eject,..both drives open,...any computer folks wanna IM me and help me out? Aim= Itstimmylikewhoa

un hook the other drive and see what you get.... you have it jumpered right?

did u change the pins on the back, one should be master and one should be slave.

check the bios if it's reading both i would think you didn't do the jumpers correctly

by jumpers are you guys meaning the IDE cables?

i have the burner set as Master and the CD rom set as cable select,..isnt this the right way?

drives can be configured as master, slave, or c/s.

set one for master, and the other as slave

ide cables can't determine which is which trust me if the jumpers aren't set correctly (those little blocks on the right pins) then the motherboard won't accept it.

ahhh setting the cd rom to slave worked,..i could have swore i always set the burner to master and the CDrom to cable select,..anyways thanks guys :thumbup:

see i knew i wasnt crazy,..but when i had the CDrom set to cable select,..it wouldnt work,..i set it to slave and it worked :dunno:
