Apparently.... I'm blind.

There were 2 matrox entries in add/remove programs. I only removed the one! (probably were conflicting with each other)

Did the other... rebooted... windows wanted new drivers, gave it newer drivers. All is peachy.

Ohwell... gave me some good time to play with Slax!
