honestly, before we got the vx-2000, we were still deciding with which to go for, the canon xl1, or the sony. we had 2 other canon a1 digital cameras before, and they lasted some good time, but we had SO many problems with them. we have had the vx-2000 for about 3 years now, and its basically the bitch camera, taken alot, ALOT of shit, and it runs like a champ. i like the xl1 becuase of its lens changabilty, but besides that, i would go for the sony.
