Is this something you know for a fact? I had a coworker with severe back problems and he recently did those injections. According to him, they alleviated a lot of the pain.

i wouldn't let him work on me unless he had the experience to back it up.

My college roommates dad is also the president of some society for spinal cord and back injusry specialist so I had him check out my dr as well.

However, there are always "horrible" stories about any type of medical procedure that goes wrong.

I learned a bunch of good exercises and use them to this day and have no back problems and pain only when I try and lift something that is extremely heavy (like say a 30 inch tv :happysad: )

Surgery should not be an option unless it is something that cannot be cured otherwise and after rehab has been given a chance. I wouldn't do the shots at all. Too many adverse side effects. Get a second opinion for sure, if not even a third or fourth.
trust me, I'm not getting srugery/shots unless i have no other choice, but only because i'm chicken shit when it comes to that stuff.
