I've been using it for 2 months now, very nice unit, tricks the deck into thinking your Ipod is a CD Changer...

I just installed one with my CDA-9855.

If you get a new Alpine deck with the high res. display, you're set. It has ways to search for songs via album, artist, and playlist. from there ... you control everything with your remote.

I love mine.

I've had it for 5 months at this point. Its nice, in that you can change songs/fast forward/skip tracks/etc. off the deck. My biggest gripe is that if you want to search for a specific song or artist, it takes forever if you have a good amount of music on the Ipod. I usually just unplug the Ipod, find the song I want, and then plug it back in and listen.

i need to setup some playlists. you're right, having to pound though 100's albums and artists is a pain.
