I haven't worn that thing since I drove up here in early Feb. I work in an office with central air thankfully. But yeah that would probably take off about 10 to 15 lbs. The whole vest, with ammo, weighs around 50 to 65 lbs. Depending on ones size.
Camp Liberty is fairly safe, though there have been some mortar attacks here. There is a great big sign in one of the rivers here indicating that a live mortar round still sits at the bottom in the mud. That one came about 50 meters from the chow hall... but didn't explode due to the soft mud and water it hit.
