Default Speech Class

Hello everyone. I'm doing a Pursuasive speech in... speech class and I'm doing it on "Alcohol purchase age should be left at 21 yrs. old." vs " Alcohol purchase should be dropped to 18 yrs. old" I need an estimation on which side you'd prefer? Thanks for your help!

you're going to get a lot of biases since a lot of members are under 21 and want to drink. however, as much as i wanted to drink legally at 18, it's a good measure to keep it at 21.

1) even 21+ can act irresponsible
2) our society is much different than that of western european societies, we're too.....over-confident and like to learn the hard way (meaning drinking & driving mostly)
3) teenager fatality rates will be through the roof!!

21, just because people wouldn't be able to handle it if it were changed.

I'd go with 21, because that's how old i had to be before i could purchase it legally. I'd hate to see somebody else luckier than me.

Yeah I'm going to refrain from voting in the poll because I would be biased. god dammit.

Even though I know I'm pretty responsible when it comes to serious stuff. I personally know about 10 irresponsible people under 21 for every one responsible person under 21. Damn whippersnappers

if we were to change our school system and socio-economic class system...then maybe 18+ drinking age would work.

I say raise it to 22 and raise the driving licence age to 18 but start permits at 17 with lots of restrictions.

well... i didn't get to choose the topic, the topic chose me...? You could be as biased as you want... opinions are good too so I know what the other person might say so I could have something to back myself up.. Thanks for the replies!
