Default Respect to the soldiers..?

http://nyc.indymedia.org/newswire/di...2004/index.php
This kid wouldnt stand for the pledge at school and the teacher flipped. It was planned as you can tell from the kids laughing in the backgroud, but I thnk that in these times, you should at least stand. No one can make you say it, but have a little bit of respect for the soldiers who are fighting in Iraq as we speak...

Opinions...comments...?

Agreed. The kid should be banned from the U.S.

Ridiculous. If the kid doesn't want to stand, he doesn't have to. Its the pledge of allegiance, it doesn't mean that he doesn't support our troops.

He's a bastard, but he shouldn't be forced to stand.

However, if I was a teacher I would have him write an essay on why he hates America so much that he won't even stand in respect for those who've died for it.

Then I'd turn it into a debate the following week and see what his fellow peers have to say about his ridiculousness.

forced out of the country for not standing for the pledge of allegiance?

Hell... that doesn't mean he doesnt support our country in the war, and I know quite a few people who don't support our troops, yet stand for the allegiance.

I don't get the logic behind sending him out of the country.

The kid didn't do it to disrespect our country or our solidiers. The ****ing teacher needs to be punished for what he did.
