are you on any of those art sites to share your work? you'll probably get better feedback on those.

Yeah I am on a few and I do get feedback on them but usually it is technical feedback and not an actual idea on the image as being pleasing ot the eye or not.

Most of my shots are "art shots" so a lot of times techical critique is not really all that helpful since I create an image as I think is pleasing and it doesn't always follow techinical convention which meets with some rather unbalanced feedback.

Some are and some aren't.

It goes along with the general viewing public idea...if the general viewing public gives me an overall good response then it would appear as though I have achieved a good result.

When artists in general look at another persons work they are drawing on their knowledge base of what technically makes a good work. The general viewer only knows what pleases their eye and skips all the technical aspects of a piece.

but you also aren't learning anything, and if you are a semi-good photography the general masses are going to like your pictures. I mean, look at thomas kinkade. that stuff is crap, but people love it.

Ummm....didn't I state that I also post in actual photography forums as well? That is where I get my technical critiques from on the same images I post here. I post them on multiple forums in order to round out the feedback.
