i was thinking that there are alot of graphics that wel load up on this site everyday, smileys, button and such... now i know that IE and firefox both have Caches but to the best of my knowledge they still load the image from the site

what i'm thinking is maybe we can have a one time download for all of us HANers that store on our local computers, then in the php just start off every sessions with a question asking "can you see this" and if they click yes then maybe you can have a variable in the smiley/button/graphic's normal url place that changes from

honda-acura.net
to
c:\HAN\

..i dunno.. an idea? hum

:werd: i thought about that, but i figured some ppl might find it to complicated to instal and run a proxy like that, not to mention in the wrong hands they can start to screw with things and make a machine run slower

i was thinking why not just have a downloadable self extracting EXE with all the files in it... ya know, then all you gotta do is tell ppl to download and install it for HAN

 

smilies are about 1KB each.

using imageshack to save attachaments instead of HAN's server would save more bandwidth compared to cache smilies,avatars, etc
