Default Write protection

How do I get rid of the write protection on a jump drive? I used to know... but I'm drawing a blank

just a guess but it could be a file that is just write protected, i know windows gets pissy with files from other computers sometimes and you have to go into the file's properties to take the lock off

also you might wanna just look at the properties of the drive itself and see if it's write protected

hope that helps
