My something in my computer case is clicking every once in awhile. I've never heard this sound before until today.
Anyone know what it is? Should I be concerned? I'm guessing a hard drive/needle problem?

most common cause of of "clicking" is a hard drive
Fans usually just start getting louder unless something fell next to one and is barely touching it.
Probably hard drive though. The clicking is the arm of the heads actually hitting the side. Could be out of alignment or something simple, but unless your a hard drive tech and have a clean room and adjusting tools, you can't fix it.

Clicking hard drives (louder and clunkier than usual) often suggest that the drive is about to die.
The only way to identify it, is to isolate it. You'll have to open up the case and pull the power wires and fire up each other and us the computer to look for the sound.
do this:
- disconnect all drives except C: (your boot drive) look for clicking
- if no clicking heard after some usage, power down and add one drive. Repeat
There's no easy way.

Or check if you have an IBM Deskstar, if so, thats probably the one that is clicking.

Now it's not clicking and all drives are running. This is frustrating.
