Do I need a licence...
... too buy stuff from a warehouse as a "dealer" then sell it to a private consumer.
Basically, do I need a licence to become a dealer? Commercial sales or something?
Oh yea. In FLorida

not 100% sure. I know with buying cars through an auction, you need a dealer's license. With going direct to the manufacturer, I think the main thing is the business license? But it makes sense that you would actually need a dealer's license to avoid having to pay taxes on the items. h:

i doubt you can buy direct from the manufacturer. he needs to go find a distributor. but yes he needs a wholesellers license from the Board of Equalization. you only don't pay tax on item you will sell, but you still have to collect tax and pay it.
also you still have to pay tax if you use the item for yourself or for your business.

So THATS why you always answer all my threads. NErd!
Oh yea. Thanks for the answer though
The deal IS. I work for the Distributor. We get stuff from our manufacturer. Dealers buy from us and sell for 2x. I want a piece of that. I want a "dealers" license and do it for myself.
Not sure if it violates some ethics standards though. Conflict of interest?

conflict of interest maybe but if your company doesn't care then it doesn't matter. of course they may care...

Would it be better to ask and bring it to their attention... or just do it and if they say stop then stop.
