My dad found out when we were all in Vegas for my 22nd bday. He's a smoker but he was cool about it. I felt bad, but he understands I'm a big boy now.

My mom on the other hand, can't stand it. She knows I smoke but I dread the day she sees me with one in my mand.

Tell them. Remember it's the point that they know, not that they'll be disappointed. They'll appreciate your honesty.

Why don't you just quit? I mean, it seems like you're a pretty strong willed person. It also seems like you are embarassed to say that you smoke, and that it's not something you're really proud of.

No I don't hide that I smoke at all, and I'm not embarassed.

Then what? You're not confident in it, or you wouldn't post this thread. I'm not trying to be an asshole to you, but it seems like you are given a good motivator to quit, and it would be a good decision in the long term.

And you wouldn't have to tell your parents. Or you could tell them you did and quit. And that's something to be happy about.

You think they know I smoke? Yeah I think so too. My mom has found an empty pack in my bro's jacket. And she has to be able to smell it on me sometimes.

I guarantee they know you smoke, but its one of those things they won't acknowledge until they either see you doing it or you tell them. Then they will go into the, "*gasp* how long has this been going on" mode.

And if your parents are non-smokers they know. smokers ALWAYS smell.

My parents know I smoke because of my smell, my car smell, packs in my car, packs in my room..It's obvious man and your parents most likely already know but just let it sink in. I dont think anyone ever really tell their parents "Mom, Dad, I've been smoking." It's one of those things they're gonna figure out.
