The purpose of the hand throttle is to free your right leg to allow for brake/clutch action with both feet when crawling.

I've heard nothing but bad experiences with V8's in Wranglers. The I6 is torquey enough for what I have planned. You'd be amazed what re-gearing, and a good 4.3:1 transfer case will do
