I have a pair of tires in my garage, and the sidewall is at least 1/4" thick.

i cut my sidewall of the tire that i was trying to unmount and it depends where on the sidewall, you get near the bead, its almost 1/4" but in the middle it is only 1/8"

sucks that happened though.

you must have some THICK tires or you are just looking at outer lip. The outer rim is thicker then middle of the sidewall. I am talking about sidewall people and not the part where thread is.
