Default Moms broke her ankle. :(

She was mopping the floors in the house, and was stepping down the hardwood steps onto the linoleum floor while holding onto the railing so she won't fall. Her left foot slipped and her ankle twisted too much and snapped. My dad says her foot looked like it was barely hanging on. :ugh:
So, she has to have surgery, probably on Monday, and she'll be out for at least 6 weeks after that.

wow that sucks dood! its harder for older people to heal well too. Hope she heals fast. ANd she'll have to watch that ankle very carefully after that because it will remain fragile for the rest of her life probably.

I'll have to work double hours to cover for her at the restaurant, so I'm not gonna be home much...my little sister can pamper her since she doesn't do anything. :chuckles:
My mom was cracking jokes in the emergency room, though...the nurse came in and asked her how tall she is (for the crutches), and my mom was like "Are they building me a casket?" :chuckles:

We don't have health insurance, but somebody told us that our homeowner's insurance should cover this...does anybody know?

Make her elevate her feet, use ice like they tell her to after surgery and don't even step that foot on the ground for a month and a half, you can pick up walkers and crutches and stuff for cheap at the Goodwill store sometimes. Homeowner's will probably cover it, save all your receipts, start a file.

That was a very vivid description.
