Do I...
Give my uncle my old Athlon XP 2100 powered pc with a good bit of bells and whistles and get myself a P4 3.0GHz system. Or just get him a new mobo and processor.
The latter would be cheaper, specially since he uses it for nothing more than checking emails and the occasional web surfing.

I run XP on a Pentium 100 with 128MB of ram on a laptop. It runs decent.

no why would I? just start the install format the drive and walk away when it starts to copy files. come back 1hr later and then go away from another hr. repeat as necessary.
