Default dvd writer drive

So... I've been out of the loop for a while as far as DVD writers go.

I need one, they seem to have more formats for DVD's than I have socks.

How's this one? Missing any formats that are needed? $57.50

good god that's so cheap.

Looks like you'll need some software, so start searching for "RecordnowMax"

IMO, a better track record. Sony has used lower tier manufacturers to manufacture their drives in the past. I had to replace my "sony" burner in my vaio computer 3 times under warranty before I voided the warranty by buying an NEC drive and I havent had a problem since then.. Vaio has started to design and manufacture their own drives recently so that isn't a problem anymore. Nevertheless, I'll never trust sony dvd drives again. But that's just my opinion.

feature wise they look the same but in tests NEC blows away sony and everyone else.

I have the NEC 3520.
I plan on buying 2 more so all my pcs will have a dvd burner. It's so cheap and to me it's needed :rick:

I plan on buying several more as well, but they're all going into a single computer. Anybody see any good deals on cases with about a dozen external 5.25" drive bays lately? :rick:
