what if you get off the highway before a CHP stops you? does he still have the right to give you a ticket?
And we too have provincial police and they have the right to give you a ticket anywhere they want... just wondering if its the same.

I'm not sure but i think if you commit the violation on the Highway then yes. But Antarius can clear that up. The CHP also patrols some streets that arent under city control. Where i live we are party of the county and sorta an annex of the city, so whenever we make a call to 911 they send CHP, and CHP patrols the streets where i live not city cops.

But, on the other hand, I've never had an unpleasant experience with a CHP officer, whether I was being pulled over or just talking to them. They're up front and to the point, and don't dick around. It's the local Sherriffs that give all the shit and unneccesairy grief here...
