Speeding + on probation + no license... be glad he didn't haul your ass to jail. Actually given your attitude he should have, I don't think the cop did anything untoward at all. I know people with nice flashy loud cars that the cops don't care about. Why, because they don't stupid things.

:werd: My friend has an '82 Camaro, he has gotten pulled over for spinning his tires out of the local McDonalds so many times. Has never gotten a ticket yet, all they do is tell him to slow down. Once he got caught for not having his lights on at like 9PM, only had his fogs on. The cop pulled him over, asked why she pulled him over, he obviously had no clue. She just told him to turn his lights on.

The main reason why you have to have your liscense on you is so they can run your name and make sure you don't have a record, which Bubb obviously does. So what exactly are you on probation for anyways?

A cop can definitely arrest you for not having a license, what the hell did you learn when you were trying to get your license anyways, besides obviously nothing.

This was like that thread in the basement, my friend got caught doing 103 in a 65, he needs a lawyer so he can try to get out of it, what the hell kind of shit is that. I tell ya man, you deserved everything you got. God forbid you got into an accident while speeding on your way to school, or hit someone in a crosswalk that happened to walk out into the road at the wrong time. "No officer, I don't have my license and I didn't do anything wrong, that stupid 5 year old walked into the road, arrest them."

Well Bubb i feel your pain... i drive pizza and i see the cops in town and figure i know where they all sit and what streets they watch... well, i was coming home monday night from classes doing 40+ in a 25 and passed one of em going the other way... saw him hit his brakes and start to flip a U, so I pulled over and waited.

Knew I was busted, Knew I was wrong and Knew what had to be done. Long story short, I was polite when he walked up... yes, sir, no sir... he gave me a warning. But i know I'm not Telfon and i dont do the crime if I can't pay the fine. Srry man gotta grow up some day and take the responsibility for our actions. its called consequences, learned it in kindergarten, but now we too PC and touchy feely and dont wanna upset anyone, and nothing could truely be our fault, which is all BS. cant take it, dont break it. :blah:

This aint the place and its too late now... so tha advice i got from a wise man, that he got from another wise man I will impart to you as a wise guy.... Suck it up and move on with life.

and just think... I wanna teach public school :jawdrop:

Sorry guy, I don't keep statistics of stuff like that. But your point is null and void. The speed limit is 15 where you were, you were doing 25. If somebody can get punched in the face, fall to the ground, hit thier head and die, then surely the same can happen if hit by a car going 25mph. But that's neither here nor there, just don't give the fawkers any reason to pull you over. Now if he had pulled you over and made you miss your class and possibly lose that class cause he noticed your hat was on backwards, then that's legit "f*ck the cops" thread material. I apologize for being a prick and calling you a dumbass.

I agree. And if I were the cop, I would have. But oh well, live and learn huh?

I would expect someone in "college" to have a little bit more intelligence than to make a statement such as "fuck cops".

especially when it's their ignorance and bad judgement that got them pulled over in the first place

That's flat out untrue. In California you cannot search any vehicle for a traffic infraction itself, you need something else. A crime, an arrest, probable cause, consent, inventory search, etc. I wish it were true, it'd make our life a million times easier; But it's simply not true.

However, the search on your vehicle was completely legal.
It's called an inventory search.
Also, he can legally search your car to look for your license if you don't have it on you. He can look anywhere a drivers license could be, within the passenger compartment. So, everywhere but the trunk.

And yes, if the story is as you said -- it would appear that the cop was being a little harsh.
