i want to say drifters, but i've seen my fair share of both, and they all annoy the hell out of me.

 

since when do you need awd to be a rally driver? last time i watched rally the fwd hatches (puegot and citreon) were kicking the crap out of the awd sub' and mit's.

I think drifter because they probably don't know how to drift but rally wannabes on the other hand can always hit some dirt roads and have some fun.

Are you saying driving an AWD vehicle, like an STI, Evo, or whatever, makes you a wannabe rally person? And driving a FR or MR vehicle makes you a wannabe drifter? I have neither, but I would love to have an AWD car because of where I live.

What exactly quailifies for a wannabedrifter? Someone trying to drift getting on the freeway or someone who thinks it the shit b/c it's all over the magazines right now?

 

Wannabe drifters drive some kinda cheap rwd car, talk about their brakes as "buraki," talk about how they've set up their car for drifting, but it's just a street car that they drive around and park at wherever the local car idiots park and hang out on friday nights. Either that or they have any other kind of fwd car and think they're a drifter because they've done an e-brake turn.

Wannabe rally drivers have Subarus or Evos and think that because a version of their car is campaigned in the WRC they are invincible. They too, park at wherever the local idiots park and hang out on friday nights.

I have to say the wannabe drifters are worse. At least the wannabe rally guys don't worship running wide-ass wheels with skinny tires stretched over them.

 

I voted drifters but I'm starting to see more stupid wannabe rally drivers. I always hear about people trying to buy up old used rwd japanese cars and talking about how they're gonna 'start drifting' when they get them.

But I'm noticing a lot of them wrx and evo owners going rediculously fast lately and are always trying to 'get ahead of the' ahead of the pack in traffic. I also hate them wannabe rally drivers who always try and challenge me when I'm on my bike(mostly been the wrx drivers).

 

I hate both. Some of the AWD guys are wannabe drifters, so they fall into both categories. I hate the bandwagon drift faggots, especially the street drifters that think they are badasses. I hate the AWD guys that think they are god's gift to performance because they can drop $30k+ and not turn a wrench to make it quick. The "listen to my bov" or "hear my boxter motor growl" guys.
