if you claim urself, you will get some more money back.
if your dad claims you, your dad will get ALOT more money back. enough to give you the money you would of gotten and some

once i turned 18 i stopped letting my parents claim me....i needed the money plus as far as i know my parents are deceased to me

you're pop could prolly use the money more than you, at this point in school you're prolly more worried about mateiral things and stuff you dont really need, where your dad might be able to put the money to real use instead of immediate enjoyment

Like putting the money towards you education. You can buy material things after you graduate.

If you use a program like TurboTax, it's easy to set up both of your taxes and then just change the dependent infomation and see who gets more money back. If you figure that your dad gets more back by claiming you as a dependent than you would claiming single, see if you can talk your dad into cutting you a check for the difference. That way, you both win.

it takes suttin like 300grand to raise a kids these days, and if you are living at home and eating at home he shouldn't get any money, because for statistacl purposes he is dependent apon his father... like a said before, his father could use it alot more than he could. i hate seeing kids dick their parents around, then again at least this guy had the courtosey to take his options into consideration
