so is the sky/solstice supposed to go after the miata, or the S2k, and Z3 roadster? I'm guessing by the size the miata.

they are all supposed to be duking it out, but i think that the sky is going to take alot away from the miata crew, coming in only 10 short (correct me if i'm wrong) of the miata's 180hp engine

at around 20 grand you cant get much more stylish.. i still can't believe it

I wonder how ridged the ride is, I'm curious to see if people will be autocrossing the sky. 180hp and it looks really light. looks like its would be fun on some mountain roads.

Sky - most places state 2299 lbs
Miata - 2004 spec is ~2400 lbs

So they are pretty well matched, the real question is will Saturn actually put a decent suspension setup on it.

they should, seeing as GM is moving them from battling the japanese to battling the europeans, i think that the suspension should be more than adequte.

i have a feeling you'll be able to pick up a solstice for like 18K and then do a front end conversion for less than the 25k the sky is roumored to be starting at (just read a few more articles)

it really says somthing when a saturn is higher in the standings than a Pontiac on the GM boards

No, not at all. The Vauxhall VX220 is built by Lotus. It's basically an Elise.

There was a Vauxhall VX-Lightning concept based on the GM Kappa platform but it was decided to not be put into production due to upcoming European pedestrian impact safety standards.

So, Saturn got a version.

Which Miata are you referring to? The Mazdaspeed makes 178 hp with its turbo engine, the regular version makes 142 hp.

No, the Sky and Solstice are more like 2800 lbs.

2.4 liter 170 hp inline four to start with. There may be some kind of forced induction offering later on.
