Default Frickin "refurbished" PS2s :madfawk:

I found the only EB within 1 hour drive of my house that had a preowned 50001/N series PS2, so I drove down and bought it, trading in my old PS2. I get back home, and find their "guaranteed" system wont even boot a single game or movie! On top of that, the next closest PS2 they have is over an hour and a half away! :madfawk: I'm just pissed, and sad, cause now I can't even play my PS2 games, including my new, virginal copy of Phantom Brave

have you tried cleaning the lens or something? i remember my old PS1 didn't boot up games because the eye's "chariot" was stuck and couldn't move back and forth on the arms. so i greased them up and it worked. however, that system is long gone.

I did that with my old PS2, and that helped... but if you open the refurb ones, they wont take it back... so I'm not gonna get stuck with a non-functioning PS2 to try that out... Argh... I'm really pissed right now

get one of those lens cleaning cd's and try that, also you might want to clean off your cd's with a lil windex and wipe outward from the center, it may allow them to be read better, remember they test those things with perfect discs

I tested it with 5 different discs, including one new from the box (I opened it no more than 2 minutes before putting it in the PS2). The thing is a piece...
