Can you get insurance to cover a breast augmentation?

 Or is it considered plastic surgery.. and you have to pay out of pocket?

It used to be considered plastic surgery, not sure if the same rules still apply.

i think you might be able to get it after breast removal from cancer, but i don't think so.

i know you can get a reduction covered by insurance in some cases.

The only way to find out if you can do it or not is by asking your current insurance provider.

augment means to make bigger

yes, breast reductions can be covered by some insurances if its medically necessary, like if they cause back pain (happens to my best friend).

Reduction can be covered under insurance if it is causing other health issues...chronic back pain, breathing problems etc.

My sister had hers paid for under her med plan because of chronic back pain.
