Default Whats the best plan

for working out? it is best for like 1 hours 3 times a week or everyday...? i need to start a regime and i wanted to know wat other people consider good. I'm not looking to lose weight, just mainly looking to tone my abs, legs and arms. Any suggestions?

Right now I will be working out 3 days a week for about 30 mins... mainly running and abs work

Don't work the same muscle group without at least a day in between workouts. The muscles need time to repair and rebuild.

You can work out everyday, but dont do the same muscle group everyday. You could do your abs one day, legs hte next day, arms the following day..then start all over with abs, legs, arms. Or, do all 3 in the same day and have at least one day for your muscles to repair and build up before you work out again.

and make sure you stretch properly before each workout or you could seriously hurt yourself.

i disagree with the legs and abs part
you use your abs and legs alot everyday so you should work them 4-5x a week if you are working out full time
and do different exercises for the same body part

you can work the same body part/area as long as you concentrate on different muscles.

when i used to ride (bicycle), there was nothing like a 20mins swim to finish off the ride (usually 40-50miles)

You NEED to have at least one day for your muscles to repair themselves and rebuild. When you work out, it litterly tears your muscle fibers...if you do that everyday without a break in between, you're defeating the whole purpose of working out.

not entirely, you may not see any more muscle being grown but muscle endurance my go up, although you may even grow weaker, the ammount or reps you do at your max may be increased

Mandi is right about at least one day to recoop. You will know it if you need another day because you're muscles will be telling you like all day. But if tone is your goal you probably wont be really shredding your muscles which would make them sore for more than a day.
Toning abs is hard work though, in case you didn' know, so just don't get impatient.
