Default My impulse purchase of the night

I stopped by Costco tonight after work to get my membership card(which I paid for 3 months ago) and get some laundry soap. This sounds crazy but Costco is 2 buildings down from my job so it's no biggie. While on my way to get the laundry soap I got lured over to the computer department where I found a few hard drives sitting on top of a cd case display. I seen one with a gold sticker that read "160GIG" and just out of curiosity I picked it up to see how much it was. $109.99. It's a Maxtor DiamondMax Plus Ultra ATA 160GIG drive. I think "hmm, not bad for 160GIG's, I think I should get it." I read the tag a little more and see in tiny print "Item deleted, discount $50.00" and I beeline to the checkout line where they confirm the price shown is not already discounted and I gladly hand over $65 for my new 160 gig hard drive......................I forgot to get my laundry soaph:

Any opinions on this model hard drive? I just bought it simply cause the price was too good to pass up, considering that I was gonna pay $50 for a Seagate 60gig hard drive the other day until I realized that it was an SATA drive, not ATA like I need.

I have 6 of em that are over 3 years old and are running just fine. In fact my first and only drive failure has been a Seagate 80 gig that I had for a little over a year

After getting home, I looked up Maxtor drives and it seemed that they had some reliability issues in the past but I have heard good things about the DiamondMax Plus line so I'm hoping that this one holds up and leaves me with a good impression of Maxtor products. Oh yeah, it also came with an Ultra ATA /133 PCI card!!!

Not bad considering there was no rebates h: I am still waiting on a better deal than the 200GB for $60 I swooped up a while back.
