Default Is this right?

State Farm sent somebody out to look at my car today.

I get a call from "Precision Auto" asking me if I want my car done by them. I wasn't contacted by state farm at all. I was surprised that he knew exactly how much was estimated, how much i pay for insurance, and how much my deductible is.

I call my state farm office and the lady was very surprised that they did this. I called the claims office and the lady told me that they don't talk to people. I told her he new my deductible and how would he get that if he hadn't talked to the estimator. He wanted to save me money. I said hell no I'm not saving any money if it's going through insurance and it wasn't my fault.

I don't want somebody I don't know touching my freakin car. I'm already compromising by going to one of their "service first" places. I think I should be the first one to be contact when the claims office gets the estimate. The best thing is the claims office doesn't have the estimate! afjkdsj;a

Oh the estimate came to $4800

No they are probably on their "hot list" basically recommended body shop they use. You have the right to pick your own body shop and it is actually better not to go to the one the ins. company recommends because they have a contract and will try to save the ins. comp. a bunch of money by doing cheap work or use second rate parts.

They believe the car is worth $7500 so totalling it out would be difficult

I have the estimate

$4800 to fix. And they took the retail value at $7,900. No total But it's good to know if it does get totalled that I'd get a lot of money, lol.

since it wasn't your fault...be sure to let them know that you want all OEM parts.

lol i could give a crap the car is 8 years old and the estimate states which parts to use. There is little negotiating.

The door that was on it was used so I figure who cares as long as they pick a nice door.
