what kind of connection are you on? that error message generally means there was a problem receiving a page you requested (clicked on a link). it could be the server's problem, but that's unlikely if you're getting it ten times a day. if i'm downloading something really fast (like say 50kB/s or more), then i get that message a lot, because the connection is so bogged down by the download that a lot of stuff gets lost instead of getting received by my computer.

i THINK the specific error is this: once you click on a link, the browser sends out a request to the link you clicked on. it'll wait for a fixed amount of time for a response. if it doesn't get one in that amount of time, it'll "time out", or drop the connection and give you an error message. i'm not sure if this is the correct error associated with that firefox message.
