I had a user put a ticket in for her PC crashing and getting virtual memory errors so I went to check it out.


Me: What exactly are you doing when you have these problems?
Her: I'm running multiple databases and running queries at the same time.
Me: Your coworker has the same platform and I upgraded you both to 512MB a few months ago.
Her: Yea, I know. But when I go to open a database it takes a while to open, so I try to open a couple more while I'm waiting.
Me: :doh: You do realize you are causing the problem. It's not the laptop. This is a brand new harddrive and I freshly imaged it when I issued it to you.
Her: Well..................I used to be an IT Manager and there should be something you can do.
Me: Really...? An IT Manager? :slap:

Did you try a reboot? Sometimes when my cup holder won't open, I usually reboot and it will come out after that.
Yea I get crap like that all the time. I'm like, "okay....so you can solve it on your own then. i'm sure you don't need me. bye".

 

My favorite is when people tell me they know what they are doing because they're MCSE certified. :sqfawk: I don't get the "used to be an IT manager" more than once, but nearly as often as people who claim to be MCSE with know knowledge whatsoever.... but those people get higer paying jobs because of that tiny piece of paper, so I think maybe I should do it?

 

MCSE means nothing now..............One of my co-workers has an MCSE.
I just have my college degree and Net+ and he asks me for help.
