I just saw the news and the main story was the storm. There possibly was a tornado overnight in the LA area, which ripped the roof off of a house, etc. They're not sure if it was a tornado or just really high straight winds like everyone else had.

Lots of flooding all over the place.

There's a 30 foot sinkhole in the middle of a street in Sun Valley. Trees down everywhere. Near Chrispiss' house a retaining wall at an apartment complex collapsed. A carport was attached to it, and it fell...crushing all the cars underneath.

Downtown LA has gotten almost 7" of rain since monday night. Mountain areas have gotten over a foot of rain, which is bad. A lot of those areas were severely burned last year in massive wildfires, so the ground can't hold any rain.

But yeah, my coworkers saw a water sprite on the way here to work this morning, and I was fording some small rivers this morning myself... lotsa rain...

Yes, the hell with this weather.

This is the time when all the WRX/EVO guys come out and act like they're Superman.

yeah, rain was pretty bad, as was the wind like everybody has said. was driving down the freeway on the 27th at night going to/from 24 hour and the winds were rocking the car around (97' maxima /w 4 peeps in it). pretty intense! this has got to be one of the most rainy winters we've had in awhile.

That's what I've always called them myself, but he (my coworker) called it a "water sprite" twice in a row, so I just assumed I was wrong h:
