Well, a place in the nicer parts of Scottsdale or Sedona are obviously going to be more than in some of the shady parts of Phoenix.

Scottsdale is overpriced crap.
You can live in nice parts of Tempe for a fair price as well as Mesa, and Chandler. A lot less pretentious than Snottsdale and still close to downtown (which by the way nobody really goes downtown for much of anything nor do many actually work in downtown).

i always see you guys asking about prices of apartments in areas your not familiar with. why dont you try AparmentGuide.com? they are great, and they list every apartment complex in that city. when me and my g/f moved to tampa we just asked people that lived there what parts of town were the nicer parts then simplified our apartment search on apartmentguide.com to those parts of town specificaly.

uhh....i live here. in queen creek, i pay $1000/month for a brand new 3 bed house, it's alright, but it's cheap cause of how far out it is. Phnx sucks, stay away from it. Mesa has some nice parts, the futher east you go. Apts run about $700-$1000 for a nice 2 bedroom. $600 or less for a "decent" 2 bed apt. Like Deek said, Gilbert is nice and it's close to everything, priced about the same as above (nice areas).
tempe has too many car thefts, so i would stay clear...plus it's overpriced because of being a college town.
