I used to get migraines pretty regularly when I was a kid. Totally debilitating... I'd miss about 1/4 of schooldays. They put me on codine for a while, and then amitryptiline (or however its spelled) for about two years. That seemed to do the trick. I haven't had one since I was ~15.
