Default your recommendation for a radar detector?

i am a teenager and i drive fast (not that fast but i think enough to get a ticket) and i have high insurance that means i can't afforda a ticket and on top of that have my insurance go any higher. so i am contemplating on getting a good radar detector hoping to LOWER the chances of getting caught. so was wondering if anyone has a radar $100 or under that would be a good investment and where to get it.i know my maximum price is low but i don't want to pay what is equilvalent to a ticket of two to lower my chances of getting one. i hope that last sentence made sense.

Cobra.
And remember not to get cocky. Nothing against you or any other teenager out there, but the statistics are scary. Too many young people getting in trouble behind the wheel.
Of course anyone can make a mistake, as is evident on the streets and highways, and even the best drivers misjudge and miscalculate.
All I'm saying is don't put others in danger.

i try not to but i do a lot of stupid stuff when i drive but most of it is unintended. plus when i say go fast i just go 10-15 miles over speed limit not like some jerk who do even more. i value life i will not intentionally do anything stupid to endanger my life nor anyone elses. for example i do not race people. anyways nowits between the cobra 9400 and the bel 925. anymore suggestions?

ive been through like 3 dectors areound 150 bucks each.. they are total junk. 2 cobras, 1 whistler. sometimes on the highway they will detect and warn you on time, and sometimes a damn cop car is like right beside you, adhead of you for a minute, or behind you and it doesnt do shit. if you really want something good try the top of the line cobras and Passports, or Escorts. anything below 100 is just toys.

Valentine is the only way to fly when it comes to radar detectors. K40 is also good, but does not offer the useability of the Valentine units.

The cheapest way and the safest way not to get caught is to drive 5mph over the most! This way you don't have to buy a radar detector and you definitely will not get pulled over unless you are acting like a punk.

I second that. What's the point of buying one when you can just drive the limit. Some states will actually give you a ticket if you have a radar detector, so if you get pulled over for speeding and you have the detector, good luck.

i know thats what i should do but i don't go looking at my speedo all the time so i want to at least lower my chances of getting caught. and i'm in florida and i think they're legal cause my dad has one and one time it detected a cop but my dad went over a bridge so it lost its signal and he got caught (he went 20 niles over speed limit) and they didn't write him up for having one. also i'm a teenager do you think i would drive speed limit? lol its supposed to be "uncool". j/k i know its stupid to drive fast cause you won't get anywhere any faster than several minutes compared to the speed limit driver but going fast is addicting.
