Default Diamond in the rough

Something that most auto enthusiasts have forgotten about. There are obviously easy intake and exhaust systems widely available, both in detuned and superior, domestic and J.D.M. applications. But why upgrade that if you already have a base-level system.
Non-major engine work should be next. I would like to know If people are taking into consideration cam overhauls. an installation of a new cam system and new valves with high flow is an overlooked mod - a diamond in the Rough. Maybe it's extravagant, not sure.

There are several companies that offer quality Japanese-spec parts at good prices. Others are ebay 'companies' I.e. some guy selling parts from the bargain barrel. A good cam system isn't necessarily expensive but Don't fall for the easy bargains. As for the valve system, a hi-flow system is a good buy for the hp. A lot of tuners need to take this on. It'll help come staging time.
