skurry trailer run
:nervous:
I was hauling cars from old house to new house today and didn't have the actuator. So I figure it will be okay to run a couple short light loads back and forth but turned out it was a bad idea.
So I run to the parts store and grab an actuator and hook it up in the parking lot. Had all the wires correct so I go to take off and test the brakes a bit at low speeds. Brakes catch in spurts...hmmmm.
So I check my wiring and can't figure it out because it all looks good, so I figure its a bad ground so I run the wire I spliced to to another location. Suddenly my tranny temp gauge shoots to 450
Needless to say I spliced the wrong wire which wasn't a ground at all so I reran the wire to a better location. The scary part was I was towing the Blazer on the trailer at the time and stopping was an interesting challenge during all this.
Moral of story: Always run fresh grounds unless you are absolutely sure what you are splicing into.
