Mounting Tires on Volks?
Hi all,
First post in a few years so bear with me. This is my first time replacing tires on a non-OEM wheel, and I was wondering if anyone out there had any advice with regards to finding a tire shop (does Costco count?) capable of safely mounting low-profile tires on rather overpriced wheels. My OEM blades have a bit of damage from them thanks to tire shops from the past, so any advice would be appreciated.
Oh, and whose idea was it to change the forum layout?

Tirerack.com has a database of installers sorted by zip code, and most of them have reviews.
Oh and you can change the forum layout back to "normal" by going to User CP > Edit Options > Postbit Style > Classic

Go to Discount Tires and ask for the best person to put on the tires. When I worked there we wouldnt let rookies touch nice wheels. My hardest mount which would of cost a lot if I fuqqed up was a set of HRE with 40 series tires. Mounted and balanced them without a scratch but I remember hella sweat coming down my face.

I've had both good and bad experiences with Discount Tire, at different locations. Out of the 3 times I've had them umount/mount a tire on my 18" silver painted 5zigens, they were only scratched once, by a rookie
Back home in Houston there's a Discount Tire near me that uses plastic protectors and is pretty good about not scratching wheels, but they charge $21 per wheel. Next time I need some tires mounted on ncie wheels, I plan on going to a local shop that specializes in bling, since they only charge $10/wheel, and are used to dealing with wheels that cost more than some cars
